Project Wrap-Up
12:56 9 September 2006
The Google SoC for 2006 is over! If you are here then you are probably looking for links to what I did so here they are:
- MailRepair: Fully featured Thunderbird 2.0 extension that repairs concatenated mail messages
- Columns: This is a link to the bugzilla bug that tracks the addition of custom columns to Thunderbird (part of my project). The code (patches are on the bugzilla page) has been checked in to the tree - and will be released with Thunderbird 2.0!
- GettingNewMessages Patch: feed.patch gettingNewMessages.patch My first checked in patches - just makes sure that filters are activated only on newly downloaded messages and not on newly created messages (as is the case in MailRepair
- Thunderbird Extension Documentation: This is the ongoing project designed to create Thunderbird-specific extension documentation. Up till now everything has been more Firefox centered.
Mailbox Repair

As per my mentor's suggestion I am starting work on my first real, dosomething, extension: mailrepair. This extension
will go through your mail folders and find concantenated emails (where one email effectively dissapears into another). As I
work on that I will try to work on updating the documentation around this site, though that is quite time consuming and
thus is slightly lower in priority...

Exams are finally over - and it's now time to sit down and start proper work on my SoC project! As a first step I have
created this simple site which will chronicle my journeys with Thunderbird and hopefully be a usefull resource for whoever
else is starting out developing extensions for Thunderbird.
